For an international food company, we are currently looking for a R&D scientist with already some industrial experience. You will join an international R&D team. The team supports product development at lab and pilot level.
Tasks:
- You have the responsibility of applied research activities related to corrugated board & paper coating to develop superior solutions for our customer with our portfolio of dedicated starches.
- You are the owner of technical expertise on corrugated board starches for Tereos group and contribute to identify and develop our portfolio with marketing and sales.
- You manage a laboratory technician.Manage technical projects in laboratory and pilot facility to demonstrate performance of our starch propositions and provide the best solutions adapted to each of our customers.
- Run customer technical support activities: advice on product solutions, technical trainings, chemical and physical analysis on papers or on glues in laboratory.
- Assist our technical sales team in customers trials related to referencing trials or application issues.
- Identify new starch products or blends functionalities to develop our portfolio of products and solutions in close collaboration with marketing and sales.
- Provide technical training to our internal teams (sales & marketing) and to our customers
- Reinforce and maintain our scientific expertise mainly on corrugated board gluing but also on paper coating to support product and market developments.
- Lead or contribute to applied collaborative research projects related to the paper and board application to identify new opportunities .
Wie zoeken we?
- You have a master degree (bio)chemistry, scientific field related to paper and corrugated board is a plus
- You have industrial experience of min. 2-3 years in research and development or in industrial production (inks, paintings, insulation, corrugated board).
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of time at customer sites in EU
- You are fluent in English and in French. Knowledge of German or Dutch is an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience on data acquisition and recording, especially in Excel or similar software tools
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, flexible and capable in setting priorities
- Critical analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, results oriented
- Ability to constructively interact with colleagues from a wide variety of roles within the company
- Team player, proactive mindset, a sense of urgency, and an ability to work and manage multiple projects independently
